Queen's Buildings, Southwark London

On the 16th October 1940 a parachute landmine hit one end of Queen's Buildings of Southwark London. My grandparents lived at 188 L Block. Which was one of the flats that was destroyed, but luckily my grandmother along with my dad and his siblings had been evacuated to Sussex. I don't know where my grandfather was that night but he worked at the Dockyard in Chatham and so I'm assuming he could of been there overnight.

41 people were killed. Most of whom were in Shelter No. 1 of the building. Below is listed the names of those killed, their ages, and abode. All of these names I found on the CWGC (Commonwealth War Graves Commission) website. Click on the image on the left if you would like to see a larger image of the buildings layout.
